KKR VS SRH : Heinrich Klassen’s Heroic Knock of 63 In 29 Balls Goes In Vain

The match number 3 of IPL 2024 on saturday witnessed some magical performances which was held between the SRH and KKR in Kolkata’s Eden Garden Cricket stadium.

The nail biting game between SRH vs KKR went till the last ball where SRH captain, Pat Cummins has to score 6 runs to win the game and a boundary to make the match tie, unfortunately he missed the last ball and KKR won their 1st game of IPL 2024.

However the miraculous inning of South African batter Heinrich Klassen led the SRH to last till the final over of the match, otherwise the game would have been over before 18th over itself.

SRH was chasing the mammoth target of 208 runs which was set by KKR batters, especially with the contribution of Phil Salt and Andre Russel where the both made 54 and 64 runs respectively.

From Sunrisers, The opening pair of Abhishek Sharma and Mayank Agarwal gave a pretty solid start for the team by making 60 plus runs in the powerplay.

Later, the middle order of SRH did not able to perform according to required run rate which led to fall of some quick wickets in the form of Tripathi and Markram.

Later, Heinrich Klassen entered the ground and showed everyone that he is here to rule in this shortest format of the game by smashing 63 runs in 29 balls with 9 monstrous sixes.

At one moment, SRH was almost out of the game when it required 85 runs in 25 balls. But then, the magical inning of Klassen started which almost crossed the winning line.

The major reason behind KKR set the target of 208 In front of Sunrisers was the Russell storm which swept away all the SRH bowlers.

Even the prime bowler of opposition, Bhuvneshwar Kumar went quite expensive due to the big six hitting machine and muscle powers of Andre Russell.

The lad smashed 7 sixes and 3 fours which added 64 runs in just 25 balls in his account. The last 4 overs was the turning point of the game between KKR and SRH.

Overall, Eden Gardens fans witnessed a special win of their 1st season that too because of a man whose bat was a bit silent in terms of scoring runs from last 2 years in the IPL, yes that man is Andre Russell.

Apart from the tremendous performances of international cricketers like Russell and Klassen, the one good thing in this match was Harshit Rana’s Bowling.

It is a good sign for Indian cricket and KKR as well, as they find an amazing bowler who constantly bowls 140 kmph plus with consistent good line and length.

Now, KKR will be looking forward to carry forward this momentum in their upcoming matches whereas SRH must be thinking to strong their middle order batting unit for remaining games.
